Description
Zorkos Beach sits in the northeast of Andros, above Gavrio and beyond Varidi. With its large, golden sandy stretch and clear, crystalline waters — from turquoise to deep blue — it is one of the most beautiful beaches on Andros, and the view from above is unforgettable.
Half of the beach is coarse golden sand and half is pebble. One section is organized, while the rest stays free for you to set up your own spot; thanks to its size it never feels crowded. The rocks give shade to a lucky few, and you can rent an umbrella and sunbed or eat at the traditional tavern right above the sand. Where the beach ends, fragrant hills and vegetation begin, and at sunset the quiet is striking.
The road is mostly asphalt, with a short, easy stretch of dirt track. Nearby, the Trypes cave is well worth a visit.
