Description
Agios Petros Beach is the largest beach on Andros, nearly a kilometre long. It is so vast that even on the busiest days, around 15 August, it never feels stifling — you will never worry about where to lay your towel.
It is at once solitary and cosmopolitan: it can look deserted yet fill with people. Its waters are clean, as the sea is open, and the sand is golden, much like neighbouring Chrysi Ammos. Close to both Batsi and Gavrio, it is an easy, safe choice favoured by young people and families with small children.
You will find wonderful beach bars, such as San Pedro, Kaliva and Topos, along with traditional tavernas, while its lovely rocks are perfect for sunbathing. Thanks to its huge expanse of sand, the beach is also great for running or walking.
