Description
Piso Gialia Beach is a fantastic beach with deep-blue waters, fine sand and rocks, set in a sheltered little cove just 10 minutes from Chora. Its crystal-clear waters deepen gently and are perfect for snorkelling, while rocks on the right invite diving.
It is youthful and one of the busiest beaches on Andros; in August it fills with boats and jet skis. On the right, a super beach bar serves food, drinks and coffee — a meeting point for young people and families, where a simple swim can turn into a fun beach party.
Access is on foot: on the road to Stenies, by the chapel of Agia Fotini, go down the steps and follow a path between dry-stone walls and willows to the beach — a good chance for a little exercise. It is a favourite of locals and one of the island's best.
