Agios Ioannis Beach, also known as Kremmides, is a seductively secluded beach of fine pebble and little stones, with crystal-clear waters and sea caves, offering near-total isolation.

Getting there is not easy: the road to Kremmides is rough, a difficult dirt track from the village of Aidonia. If you have a boat, explore the sea caves along the route from Gyalos.

At Kremmides, the chapel of Ai-Giannis the Theologian hosts one of Andros's biggest festivals (panigiri), usually on the last weekend of September. Plenty of wine, tasty mezedes, fresh souvlaki and island music with lutes and violins last until morning — a memorable close to the island's festival season.
