Vitali Beach is one of the most beautiful on Andros, famous for the striking drive that leads to it. From the port of Gavrio it is 15 km — 3 of them on a well-laid dirt road — crossing the mountain to reach a fantastic bay of deep-blue water.

It is good for windy days, as its fine pebble raises no stinging sand, while the waters are crystal-clear, deep and great for diving. A rock on the right gives shade, and a small chapel at the edge completes the picturesque scene. The beach is organized, with one of the best beach bars on Andros, offering sunbeds, showers and whatever else you need.

In a strong meltemi it builds big waves, which makes Vitali popular for surfing. The journey may seem demanding, but it is well worth the effort.

Faces northeast and is open to the meltemi. Suitable even when strong winds blow from the south, southwest or west.
