Description
Mastori Wines is a small family winery in Chones, a hill village above Ormos Korthiou in the south of Andros. Dimitris Mastoris bottled his first wine in 2017 and has kept the operation deliberately small since then, working in tiny batches with minimal intervention. Some of the vines on the property are over thirty years old.
Fermentation runs on native wild yeasts and the wines go into the bottle unfiltered, keeping the texture and the aromatics of each parcel. All three labels carry Protected Geographical Indication status.
The white, from the Potamisi and Assyrtiko varieties, leads with citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit and white flowers, fresh and lively. Minerality from the Cycladic terroir meets bright acidity for a perfectly balanced wine. It pairs with seafood, fresh salads and grilled fish.
The red, from the local Koumari grape, is fresh and full of life, with aromas of blackcurrant, wild berries and a subtle note of chocolate. Soft tannins and its freshness make it ideal even for summer moments. It goes with rich cheeses, red meats and sausages.
The rosé carries heady notes of summer, wild strawberries, juicy cherries and purple flowers. Native yeasts give it a rich body and a crisp, balanced acidity, with a long, enjoyable finish and a lasting sense of elegance. Enjoy it with charcuterie, pasta in red sauces, spicy dishes or grilled meats.
The bottles are available in supermarkets in Korthi, Chora, Batsi and Gavrio, and in partnership with DNS the wine is also exported to the United States. This is a wine that tells the story of Andros and its traditions, made for every tasting moment.
