Traditional Andros sweets in Chora

Description

Kallivroussis Patisserie stands in Chora, the main town of Andros, keeping the techniques of old-school pastry-making very much alive. In the island's tradition, sweets weren't part of daily life. They were prepared for feasts and special occasions, using the finest ingredients an Andriot household could offer.

The counter brings together the classic sweets of Andros (amygdalota, kaltsounia, pastitsakia and the refreshing soumada drink) alongside the cosmopolitan cakes born in the workshop of Andriot master Dimitrios Galanos: Sokolatina, Nougatina, Almond, Meringue, Glaso, Truffle, Mille-feuille and handmade chocolates.

The process is patient and consistent. It begins with the careful preparation of nuts, moves through the base, and ends with assembling each piece so it reaches the display case fresh and authentic.

The shop also takes orders for weddings, baptisms and private events, with handmade creations, sponge cake (pantespani), soumada and bonbonnieres.
