The Andros Port Authority is located in Chora, Andros (postal code 84500) and operates under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, as part of the Hellenic Coast Guard. It is the competent port authority for the entire island of Andros and the Gavrionisia islets.

It covers the four ports of the island — Gavrio, Chora, Korthi and Batsi — also through the subordinate Gavrio Port Guard (1st Port Office).

Its responsibilities include:

• Port policing and maintaining public order within its land and sea zone
• Vessel inspections (passenger, commercial, fishing, private) via the Local Vessel Inspection Office (T.K.E.P.)
• Maritime documents — crew lists, seafarers’ books, certifications and signings-on
• Search & Rescue (S.A.R.) operations within its sea area of responsibility
• Environmental protection — prevention of marine pollution
