Description
The Plan B Art studio sits in a picturesque alley right next to the main pedestrian street of Chora, Andros, hosting the creations of Filippos Drosos and Maria Papadopoulou. Founded in Thessaloniki in 2017, the two artists moved to Andros in the summer of 2022, inspired by the island's beauty and distinctive cultural character.
Working primarily with paper, metal and stained glass, their pieces are entirely handmade, drawing inspiration from the Aegean landscape and from dreamy, fairytale worlds. The aim is to open a door to the imaginary and invite the viewer to travel through alternative realities.
A defining feature of their work is the use of eco-friendly materials and techniques. Paper pieces are crafted with scalpel papercutting, quilling and paper sculpture. The metal sculptures and stained-glass constructions carry steampunk influences and combine recycled materials: glass bottles, metal gears and salvaged vehicle parts. Many creations come to life through integrated lighting (lightboxes).
At the studio you will find paintings, sculptures, small decorative objects and jewellery. Every piece is unique and entirely handmade.
