Description
The Panigiri of the Four Villages kicks off the traditional festival season on Andros, bringing together four neighbouring hamlets — Lamyra, Strapougies, Mesathouri, and Ypsilou — for a night of authentic island celebration. The event takes place on Saturday 25 July 2026 at the historic Parthenagogion (old girls' school) of Lamyra, a picturesque village nestled in the green hills of central Andros.
A panigiri is one of Greece's most genuine cultural experiences: live traditional music, dancing, and a festive community atmosphere that lasts until dawn. This year's entertainment is provided by the Andriotiko Takimi, a beloved local ensemble specialising in the folk music of the Aegean. Whether you're a local, a returning visitor, or discovering Andros for the first time, this is a wonderful introduction to island tradition at its most joyful.
Entry: 5€. Starts at 21:00.
